Trade Policy
The Confederation's policy is in accordance with its philosophy: working to achieve freer and fairer foreign trade. Key goals are market access to growth markets, the abolition of tariff- and non-tariff-related trade barriers and the protection of intellectual property: their achievement creates markets, investment opportunities and a benevolent economic environment in which German textile and clothing companies can participate. In its work with government departments, the BDI, the EU Commission, foreign partner associations and the European industry federation EURATEX, the textile+fashion Confederation is making every effort to achieve these goals. Its work ensures that the interests of the German textile and clothing industry enjoy long-term representation at a national, European and international level. In addition, the unit also advises member associations and businesses on matters related to foreign trade, while also establishing contact with both national and international policy-makers.
