RETA / CETA Partnerships

RETA

The Moscow office of the textil+mode confederation supports companies in the industry with their activities in Russia. The confederation has also founded the "Russia-Europe Textile Alliance" (RETA) together with three other European associations. These partner associations are the Association of the Austrian Textile Industry, the French Union of Textile Industries and the Swiss Textile Federation. RETA's Moscow office advises companies planning on developing the Russian market and the markets of other CIS states. It provides information about sales structures, production capacities and the underlying legal requirements. The office also devotes its efforts to identifying suitable Russian business partners. RETA also represents the interests of industries in participating countries vis-à-vis Russian policy-makers.

The following RETA core services are available free of charge to member companies:

  • Establishing contact with potential customers and other business partners in Russia
  • Advice on the basic principles of: law, taxation, standards and consumer protection, investments, etc.
  • Targeted contact with experts in the areas mentioned above
  • Provision of market data and segment analyses
  • Infrastructure support services (hotel, travel/transport, visa, etc.)

The European federation of associations has acquired Mr. Igor Salomakhin as Director of the RETA office. Mr. Salomakhin has many years of managerial experience in the Russian textile and clothing industry.

CETA

The China-Europe Textile Alliance was launched on February 1, 2005 as a joint venture between the textil+mode confederation and the leading Austrian and Swiss industry associations. Since that date, the French, Spanish and Finnish associations have also joined the Alliance. The CETA office is situated next to the German Industry & Commerce office in Shanghai and is staffed by a local workforce of three employees. All CETA staff are able to draw on in-depth knowledge of the textile and clothing industry. As such, they are the key points of contact for European member companies planning projects in China.

CETA provides support to companies as follows:

Establishing contacts

  • Contact agency work, e. g. for agents, joint-venture partners, sales channels for procurement and sales projects in China.

Consultancy services

  • Legal questions
  • Customs issues
  • Questions about certification
  • Support for direct investment projects

Market surveys

  • Providing statistical data on the Chinese textile and clothing industry

Infrastructure support services

  • Trade fair events
  • Fact-finding trips

The CETA project is funded by the associations as a special service for its member companies. However, since January 1, 2007, companies are now asked to make a minimal contribution of their own:

  • The first hour of consultancy is free of charge.
  • Each additional hour of consultancy is invoiced at EUR 60.00.
  • Guided tours given by CETA staff are invoiced at EUR 400.00 per person, per day, plus costs for board and accommodation. This fee includes translation services.
  • Each consultancy project first receives a no-obligation initial quote. This quote attempts to assess the project framework, project strategy and predicted costs as accurately as possible.

No costs are incurred without consulting first with the company.
